Grounds for the processing
We process personal data in order to perform a task carried out in the public interest (Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). The data are needed for communication and implementing the services. The personal data provided are not processed for any purposes other than the ones listed below.
The personal data collected and the purposes of processing them
Your email address and/or other contact information is requested when you give feedback in the Environment.fi service. You can also send feedback anonymously, but if you want to receive a response to the feedback you sent, you need to provide contact information.
The Environment.fi service does not collect information that would make it possible to identify an individual visitor. However, general statistical data on the use of the online service are collected and used to develop the service.
Cookies are used to collect the data, but users may disable cookies by changing their browser settings. However, this may cause the website to not function properly. The user statistics are based on log data on the server as well as on Google Analytics reports in which the cookies of the Google Analytics software and JavaScript code are used.
Sources of personal data
The personal data provided in connection with sending feedback are disclosed by the person who sent the feedback.
Processing personal data
The information in the feedback form is processed by the people who maintain the Environment.fi service in the Ministry of the Environment, SYKE, the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA), the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre) and the customer service of environmental issues of the ELY Centre, as well as the Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI). The data are also visible to the partners and subcontractors that provide the online service.
The data are not transferred or disclosed outside the EU or the EEA.
Protecting the processing of personal data
The necessary technical measures have been taken in the processing of feedback to protect the processing of personal data. The Ministry of the Environment has agreed on the processing of personal data in accordance with the GDPR with the partners and subcontractors providing the online service.
Storing personal data
In addition to the time required to process the feedback, personal data are stored for two calendar years until February from the year when the feedback was sent in the content production system of the online service, after which the data are archived. No data on the email, name, telephone number or company/organisation that the sender of the feedback may have provided will be transferred to the archive.
Your data protection rights related to the processing of personal data
In this policy, we aim to provide a comprehensive picture on the processing of personal data in the interview and selection phases of the recruitment process. However, if a part of our processing of personal data remains unclear, you can ask our contact person for further details.

You can request and review your data provided when sending feedback by notifying the contact person.
You have the right to access any personal data concerning yourself, request the rectification or erasure of any incorrect data and the erasure of personal data, and prohibit the transfer of personal data to an archive.
If you do not consider the processing of your personal data to be lawful, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
